Wessex System 4303 underwater epoxy: Emergency repairs
Repair leaking pipes, tanks and joints using Wessex System 4302 or Wessex System 4303, in conjunction with an open-cell soft foam carrier.
Instructions
Mix the adhesive in the usual way, then work it thoroughly into a pre-cut foam pad of the appropriate size and shape. Also work the adhesive into the damaged substrate. Press the pad strongly against the leak and hold in place with a suitable tool, such as shaped metal backing plate, throughout the curing period or until a sufficiently high joint strength develops.
In certain circumstances, a hot air blower may be used to accelerate this curing process and an adequate bond strength may develop within an hour.
If the repair is successful the leak will stop as soon as the resin-soaked foam is applied, so there's no harm in leaving the clamping device in position for as long as necessary.
